The Town of Urbana is situated near the northeastern part of Steuben County. Devided almost equally by Keuka Lake and Pleasant Valley at the head of the lake. The Town of Urbana was officially formed from part of Bath on April 17 1822. The first permanent settler came to Pleasant Valley in 1793, the William Aulls family. In 1829 William Warner Bostwick planted some grape cuttings from them blossomed several wineries. The Village of Hammondsport is within the township of Urbana. Urbana is a scenic peaceful area, full of History and a wonderful place to visit. From aviation to wineries there is something for the whole family.
